Editing Live Surveys

Live surveys.

To protect the integrity of your data and ensure you can make decisions with confidence, there are specific rules for making changes to a survey after it has been launched.

Editing Survey Content You can edit any part of your survey (questions, descriptions, etc.) before it goes live. However, once a survey is active and collecting responses, its content is locked and cannot be changed. This is a crucial step to ensure that all participants are responding to the exact same questions, which preserves the validity of the data and the clarity of your insights.

Adding Participants to a Live Survey To ensure your data is always comprehensive, you have the flexibility to add new participants to a live survey, provided they belong to a group already included in that survey. The process varies slightly depending on the participant type.

  • For Students and Parents: Participant lists are updated automatically. Data for students and parents is refreshed nightly from your school's MIS via Wonde. This means that if a new student enrols or a new parent contact is added to a selected group, they will automatically be added to the live survey, streamlining the process and ensuring you capture a complete picture.
  • For Staff: You can manually add new staff members to a live survey if they belong to a pre-selected group. For example, if your survey targets ‘Teaching Staff’, you can add a new teacher to the participant list after the survey has launched. Once you add them, you can send an invitation immediately or wait for the next scheduled reminder.
  • Sending the invitation: When you add a new participant, you can choose to either send their invitation immediately using the manual resend as described above or let them be included in the next scheduled automatic reminder.

This approach ensures you can gather complete feedback from all relevant stakeholders, strengthening the evidence base for your strategic decisions.
